Ian | One Year Session | Metro Detroit Infant Photographer

Ian wrapped up his first year of sessions with me with an outdoor one year cake smash session! We had such beautiful weather and could not have simply asked for a nicer evening for this guys session.

We started his session with some simple outfits that mom brought with her for his session before we ended it with him smashing his simple white cake. When it comes to cake smash sessions, I tell all my clients less is more for my style. I am not the photographer that sets up elaborate set ups with themes and such. I know its super cute but my style is just more simple and classic so if you like nice white cakes or honestly a simple colored cake with a minimalistic approach I am your girl and I love that mom took my advice on this for his session.

He wasn’t too thrilled with the smashing part and surprised both his parents on his desire to smash it to pieces because I guess he loves to play with his food, however I find this to be the norm when it comes to cake smash sessions. Most babies just want to poke at it, maybe slap it around a bit but then they are upset and want nothing more with it as seen below!
