Rosylina’s Newborn Session | Macomb Newborn Photographer

My very last newborn of 2023 was 100% a spit fire! This sweet little baby girl did not want to sleep one bit for her newborn session! She had an agenda of her own and that included seriously hanging out with me.

Sometimes these things happen during newborn sessions and given that she was already one month old, I knew that it was going to be a lot harder to get her back to sleep and to stay asleep. As newborns grow out of that newborn stage, usually by the end of the first month of their life, they are not as sleepy as they are those first 3 weeks of life. That is why so many newborn photographers, including myself, want babies in within the first 15-17 days of life. That is the prime time to photograph newborns. However, sometimes new parents and or schedules do not allow for babies to be photographed right away and so I never turn away a newborn session, because every baby and parent should have the joy of capturing them when they are small at any given time. I just set the expectation that hey sometimes baby may want to stay awake and hang out with us and that is totally ok and you will stay have amazing portraits to forever remember this time.

In this case, Rosylina absolutely wanted to stay awake for her session.

Her mama wanted me to recreate much of what I did for her first daughter’s newborn session with the beautiful neutral tones and light pinks! I love all the sweet little faces she made for me and enjoyed all her little newborn conversations she had with me. We did get a few shots of baby girl catching a quick snooze, but she quickly arose when we went to transition to the next set!
