So when this sweet first-time mama came to me with only one request for her baby boy’s newborn session—earthy colors—I couldn’t have been more excited. As a first-time client, she gave me full creative freedom, and I had such a great time styling the session around her chosen palette. We created several different setups that felt both organic and classic—capturing her little one in a way that feels grounded, cozy, and full of love.
One of the most special touches was a handmade blanket brought in by mom. It was lovingly crafted by her sister just for the baby, and we made sure to incorporate it into a few of the setups. Including meaningful, personal items like this always adds a deeper layer to the session. These aren’t just photos—they’re memories wrapped in love, family, and intention. Years from now, that blanket will be more than just a prop—it’ll be a treasured heirloom that connects this moment to future generations.

As we moved through the session, baby boy slept peacefully for most of it, letting us capture all those dreamy, curled-up poses. But toward the end, he woke up—wide-eyed and ready to show off his little personality! He gave us the best variety of expressions, from curious gazes to a few surprise smiles (yes, real ones!), especially during one setup I styled that ended up being mom’s absolute favorite. It’s always such a joy when everything comes together like that.
